1. Research relevant keywords and hashtags - Search for popular hashtags in your niche. This can be done by browsing the explore page or researching relevant competitors. One thing to note when you are first starting out is using the most popular hashtags with over 1 million followers may not be a good strategy, as your posts will get lost amongst all your big competitors on the explore page.

2. Study your competition - Utilize the pages of your competitors to track their followers’ concerns/questions and format your posts to directly target their problem areas.

3. Optimize your bio to include directly what you do - Improve your bio by using popular keywords in your industry and being specific about your offering. The bio is the first thing someone sees when they land on your page, is it straightforward and easy to follow?

4. Use your insights - Track, analyze and single out the posts which performed the best and directly create similar content based on the highest reach and engagement. The best way to stay organized when tracking content analytics is to have an Excel sheet with a breakdown of the best to least performing posts.

5. Show your face + engage with followers - Share your story. Ask your audience what they would like to see more of. Show them how you got to where you are and why you are capable of serving them. 7. Build a community - Be the go-to person in your industry - engage, educate and add value with your content. If you constantly seek to promote and sell your services without providing the customer anything in return, you’ll be disappointed to find out nobody wants to buy from you. 8. Review your offering - If all of these don’t work, it might be time to review your offering: is it clear, concise and easy to understand? Are people engaged in your offering or thrown off by the wordy language? Be clear about what you offer and its benefits & people will choose to come to you.
